FBI Director Casts Doubt on Trump Shooting Incident; Harris Condemns Hate-Fueled Rhetoric at Netanyahu Protests – Live Updates on US Elections 2024

FBI director Christopher Wray raised doubts about whether or not a bullet struck Donald Trump during the recent assassination attempt at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump claimed he was hit by a bullet, but Wray stated it was unclear if it was a bullet or shrapnel. Trump has been criticized for not being transparent about his health following the incident.

In other political news, a survey conducted by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee found a surge in enthusiasm among Democrats after Kamala Harris entered the presidential race. Members expressing high enthusiasm for the nominee rose from 34% to 78% post-Harris’s entry, while those considering supporting a third-party candidate decreased.

Harris herself recently condemned the burning of the American flag and pro-Hamas graffiti seen during protests of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech in Washington DC. She stressed that while peaceful protests are allowed, antisemitism, hate, and violence have no place in the nation.

Additionally, the House has established a bipartisan taskforce to investigate the security failures that occurred during the assassination attempt on Trump. The taskforce, composed of 13 members, aims to determine what led to the incident and hold individuals accountable for the shooting. The legislation passed with a unanimous vote of 416-0.
