LSU Clinches 2025 NCAA Baseball Championship
Omaha, NE — The LSU Tigers showcased their dominance in college baseball by winning the 2025 NCAA Division I baseball national championship, defeating Coastal Carolina in a two-game sweep. The Tigers took Game 1 with a narrow 1-0 victory, followed by a 5-3 win in Game 2. This championship marks LSU’s eighth title in program history, adding to their previous victories in 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009, and 2023.
The tournament commenced with a 64-team format, progressing through regionals and super regionals before the final eight teams competed in the Men’s College World Series (MCWS) held in Omaha from June 13 to June 22. The MCWS featured two double-elimination brackets, culminating in the best-of-three championship series.
Notably, LSU’s victory reinforces their status as a powerhouse in collegiate baseball, led by Coach Jay Johnson. As the first No. 1 overall seed to win the MCWS since Miami in 1999, LSU fans have much to celebrate as they bask in the glory of yet another championship.
