Nebraska Medical Center Crowned Top Hospital in State for 14th Year
Nebraska Medical Center has once again been recognized as the top-rated hospital in Nebraska, an accolade it has maintained for 14 consecutive years. This esteemed title, awarded by U.S. News & World Report, is a prestigious designation that is achieved by only 13% of evaluated hospitals nationwide. This year, over 4,400 hospitals were assessed based on crucial metrics including risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and quality of nursing care.
Dr. Michael Ash, CEO of Nebraska Medicine, emphasized the pride associated with this recognition, stating, “Being ranked as the best hospital in the state for 14 straight years is something each colleague who works here can be extremely proud of." He assured patients of their commitment to providing the highest quality care.
Notably, Nebraska Medicine’s Gastroenterology and GI surgery program earned a spot in the national top 50, while six other specialties—including cancer, cardiology, and orthopaedics—were rated as high performing. Additionally, ten procedures and conditions, such as heart arrhythmia and stroke treatment, were also recognized for their excellence. The rankings rely on extensive patient outcome data from over 800 million records, reflecting a dedication to safety and quality in healthcare.
