In addition to the suspension, Moore is expected to face further recruiting-related penalties from the university. This investigation follows an incident where Moore allegedly deleted a 52-message text chain with Stalions after reports of the scandal surfaced. Although those texts were reportedly recovered, the full extent of Moore’s accountability remains under scrutiny.
Moore’s suspension could be compounded by potential actions from the NCAA, which has scheduled a hearing for June. Previously, after Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended for three games, Moore stepped in as interim coach. Under Moore’s leadership during his first full season, the Wolverines finished with an 8-5 record, earning a ranking of No. 25 in Yahoo Sports’ way-too-early Top 25 for the upcoming season.
