Nebraska Football Gains Momentum with Jamal Rule Commitment
Lincoln, NE – In a significant boost for Nebraska’s recruiting efforts, Charlotte Christian’s three-star running back Jamal Rule has officially committed to the Cornhuskers. Rule, who stands 6 feet tall and is known for his speedy play, chose Nebraska over offers from Virginia Tech, Michigan State, and Syracuse. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, he is the No. 779 overall prospect and the No. 44 running back in the 2026 recruiting cycle, as well as the No. 31 player in North Carolina.
Rule’s commitment follows an official visit to Lincoln earlier this month, making him the eighth recruit to join Nebraska’s burgeoning class. His commitment aligns with that of Danny Odem, a four-star cornerback from Orlando First Academy, who also pledged to the Huskers earlier in the day. Odem stands as the top-rated prospect in Nebraska’s class, coming in at No. 198 overall and No. 19 among cornerbacks nationally.
During his junior season, Rule excelled on the field, amassing over 1,200 rushing yards and scoring 15 touchdowns as part of a Charlotte Christian team that recorded eight victories, finishing ranked No. 20 in North Carolina by the On3 Composite Rankings.
Nebraska’s recruiting momentum has gained traction this summer, recovering from a recent loss of four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh. The Cornhuskers have added five new pledges in June alone, including three-star tight end Luke Sorensen and two offensive linemen, Hayden Ainsworth and Rex Waterman. Sorensen emphasized Nebraska’s unmatched football culture, stating, "Football is taken so seriously, and I want to be part of a culture like that."
With its class currently ranked No. 56 nationally, Nebraska is eager to continue bolstering its roster ahead of the coming season.
