Nebraska Secures Commitment from Four-Star Tight End Luke Sorensen
Lincoln, NE – The University of Nebraska has officially gained a verbal commitment from four-star tight end Luke Sorensen from Anaheim’s Servite High School, a significant addition for the 2026 recruiting class. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 245 pounds, Sorensen announced his decision on Friday following an official visit to Lincoln on June 6-7. This visit marked the second time he explored Nebraska, having previously attended a spring practice in April.
Recruitment efforts, spearheaded by tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield, saw Nebraska fend off competition from powerhouse programs like Ole Miss and Penn State. Sorensen expressed confidence in Nebraska’s potential, labeling the program as a "sleeping giant" in the Big Ten, suggesting that a successful season lies ahead.
During his visit, he connected with future Nebraska quarterbacks Dylan Raiola (2026) and Trae Taylor (2027). Sorensen noted Nebraska’s robust quarterback prospects and his excitement about contributing in 12 or 13 personnel packages. As a versatile player, he offers significant blocking prowess and is poised to become a key asset in Nebraska’s evolving offensive strategy under their new coaching staff.
