LincOne Credit Union Hosts Annual Food Truck Fest Fundraiser in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – LincOne Credit Union is set to host its third annual Food Truck Fest on Wednesday, June 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The community event aims to combat food insecurity in southeast Nebraska, where approximately 70,000 people struggle with hunger year-round.
The Food Truck Fest will feature local food vendors and live music, making it a fun outing with a cause. Last year, the event collected over 500 pounds of food, with plans to increase donations this year. “1000 pounds of food can provide over 800 meals,” said Jason Pauling from the Food Bank of Lincoln, highlighting the importance of community support.
Organizers emphasize the event’s goal of raising awareness about food scarcity in the area, which has reportedly risen from 48,000 individuals three years ago. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation. “It’s all about ‘People Helping People,’” stated marketing manager Michael Bartek.
Entry to the fest is free, making it an accessible opportunity for the community to enjoy local cuisine while aiding those in need.
