Chandler Offensive Lineman Rex Waterman Commits to Nebraska

Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton three-star offensive lineman Rex Waterman has officially committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers after his recent visit to Lincoln. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound player chose Nebraska over UCLA following official visits to both schools. Other programs, including Duke, Boise State, and Arizona State, were also in the running.

Waterman’s decision was influenced by the strong connections he forged with Nebraska’s coaching staff and existing players during his visit. "Nebraska is the ideal place that I would thrive in," he shared, noting the alignment of goals between himself and the coaching staff. Offensive line coach Donovan Raiola and head coach Matt Rhule invested significant efforts into Waterman’s recruitment, which began when Nebraska offered him a scholarship in January.

"I have a great relationship with Coach Raiola," Waterman stated, emphasizing Raiola’s personal approach and ability to connect with players. The personable nature of both coaches made a lasting impression on him, further solidifying his commitment.

During his high school career, Waterman primarily played left tackle but is expected to transition to guard in college, showcasing versatility across the offensive line. Described as a "mauling" offensive lineman, he possesses a solid frame and impressive athleticism, demonstrating prowess in both run blocking and pass protection.

As Nebraska’s first offensive line commitment for the 2026 class and the fifth overall, Waterman expressed his unwavering dedication to the program: "100 percent locked in. Husker for life." With Waterman’s commitment, the Huskers aim to strengthen their offensive line for the future.
