Nebraska Wrestling Introduces a Mysterious Addition to Its Roster

AJ Ferrari Joins Nebraska Wrestling Squad, Aiming for Championship Glory

Lincoln, NE – The Nebraska Cornhuskers have welcomed a powerhouse into their wrestling program with the transfer of AJ Ferrari, a former national champion and two-time All-American. With a stellar career record of 51-2 at the NCAA Division I level, Ferrari’s arrival offers a significant boost to a team fresh off a strong national championship campaign.

Ferrari’s journey has been anything but conventional. After starting his college career at Oklahoma State and competing at Cal State Bakersfield last year, he originally signed with North Carolina but faced enrollment challenges that led to his current decision. Now, under head coach Mark Manning’s leadership, Ferrari is expected to fill an immediate role in the starting lineup.

"We’re excited about AJ joining our family here at Nebraska," said Manning. "This decision was a collaborative effort from my team, staff, and our administration. AJ’s wrestling accomplishments speak to the dedication, work ethic, and competitive spirit that aligns with our program. We believe AJ adds tremendous value to our team’s fight and passion for our sport."

Ferrari’s high school accolades are equally impressive, boasting a record of 96-1 and clinching two Texas state titles at Allen High School. His impressive resume further includes championships at prestigious tournaments like the Fargo Freestyle and Walsh Jesuit Ironman. Additionally, he earned a bronze medal at the 2018 Cadet Freestyle World Championships and won the Junior Folkstyle National Championship that same year.

Despite his undeniable talent, Ferrari has previously garnered controversy, raising eyebrows within the wrestling community. If he can channel his energy positively, he could propel Nebraska into strong contention for national titles in the upcoming season.
