RV Industry Association Aims to Reconnect Former RV Owners with the Lifestyle
The RV Industry Association (RVIA) is actively working to re-engage former RV owners and attract new consumers to the RV lifestyle. Recent studies indicate a significant shift in RV ownership demographics, with a younger and more diverse audience embracing the RV experience.
According to the Go RVing 2025 RV Owner Demographic Profile, the median age of RV owners has decreased from 53 in 2021 to 49 in 2025. Notably, 46% of owners now fall within the 35–54 age range. The RV community is also becoming more inclusive, with Hispanic-American, African-American, Asian-American, and LGBTQ+ owners comprising 30% of RV owners. (rvia.org)
In response to these evolving demographics, RVIA is focusing on innovative marketing strategies to attract former RV owners back into the fold. The association emphasizes the affordability and flexibility of RV travel, highlighting that RV vacations can be up to 60% less expensive than other comparable vacations. (rv-lyfe.com)
RVIA President Craig Kirby expressed optimism about the industry’s future, stating, "This bodes very well for the future growth of the industry and is a strong indicator of the lasting popularity of RVing." (rv-pro.com)
By embracing these demographic shifts and focusing on reconnecting with former RV owners, RVIA aims to ensure the continued growth and diversity of the RV community.
