The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Engineering will be hosting its annual Senior Design Showcase on May 2nd. The event will feature over 80 teams of graduating seniors presenting innovative projects such as virtual reality systems, artificial intelligence applications, and predictive modeling systems. Many of these projects are sponsored by national and international industry partners and local organizations, reflecting real-world professional challenges.
One standout project is the Adaptive Tennis team’s creation of a system that allows individuals with physical disabilities to participate in tennis using a simulator. Other projects include a rapid heating device for hematology testing, a safety system for rural vehicular accidents, adaptive devices for sports participation, and a predictive modeling system to prevent injuries in various sectors.
The showcase will also include projects such as a shelf load test system and a mobile truck-driving simulator using virtual reality. Attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorite project at the People’s Choice Award voting station. The event is free and open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to see the cutting-edge work of Nebraska’s engineering students.
