Kearney student’s art selected for exhibit at Nebraska Governor’s Residence


Kearney High School student Ariah Perez’s artwork “Lady Justice” has been selected for the 8th annual My Life in Nebraska exhibit at the Nebraska Governor’s Residence. Only 16 pieces from across the state will be showcased from May 9 to August 1, 2025. Ariah’s piece, created in her Printmaking class, impressed the jury with its originality, technical skill, and emotional expression. The selection was made by a panel including representatives from the Nebraska Arts Council and the Governor’s Residence. According to a spokesperson, Ariah’s work is powerful and thoughtful, showcasing her talent and creative expression. The exhibit will feature selected works from the 2025 Scholastic Art Awards of Nebraska, with all chosen artworks on display in the lower level of the Governor’s Residence during the exhibit dates. Attendees can look forward to seeing Ariah’s art alongside other talented young artists from across the state.
