Nebraska Task Force 1 dispatched to Arkansas for aid in water rescues

Nebraska Task Force 1 (NE-TF1) was deployed to eastern Arkansas over the weekend to assist with severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding. President Trump approved an emergency declaration for Arkansas in response to the weather events that began on April 2. During their deployment, NE-TF1 rescued a person whose SUV was swept off the road by floodwaters. The Black River in Pocahontas and Randolph County is causing problems, with levels expected to crest at 24 feet on Thursday. NE-TF1 is currently deployed as a Type III federal asset, actively training and reviewing skills in various operations while awaiting assignments or requests from emergency crews in the area. The team has been assisting with water operations, hazmat operations, Search and Rescue Common Operating Platform (SARCOP), and search and rescue (SAR) operations. They continue to provide support and assistance in the impacted areas as needed.
