Troy Cox Classic kicks off with match against No. 17 Nebraska


NM State Softball kicked off their 2025 season with the NM State Invitational, going 4-2 after facing UC Santa Barbara, Colorado State, and Kansas City. This weekend, they are set to face (#17) Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, and Montana as part of the 2025 Troy Cox Classic. The team’s standout player, Lauren Garcia, had an exceptional performance with four home runs and 10 RBIs over the weekend.

The team, led by legendary head coach Kathy Rodolph, is looking to build on their success from last season with returning players Devin Elam and Desirae Spearman. Rodolph has a long history of success with the Aggies, including multiple conference championships and NCAA Regional appearances.

In addition to their returning players, NM State Softball welcomed 17 newcomers to the team, including transfers and true freshmen. They are looking to make an impact and contribute to the team’s success this season.
