Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a homicide in Seward that occurred overnight. A 911 call led officers to a residence where they found a deceased female and a male with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victim, Jamie Hagen, had a protection order against the suspect, Casey Kindt, who is in critical condition. A juvenile present in the house was unharmed. The NSP is leading the investigation into the incident, where it is believed that Kindt shot Hagen before turning the gun on himself. The two were previously in a relationship. The Seward Police Department and Seward County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the investigation. The NSP will continue to gather information to determine the details of the tragic event. The suspect is receiving medical treatment at UNMC in Omaha, under the custody of troopers.
