Nebraska cattleman Buck Wehrbein has been elected as the president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) during CattleCon 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. Wehrbein, with 45 years of experience in the cattle feeding sector, brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the organization. The 2025 NCBA officer team also includes Gene Copenhaver of Virginia as president-elect and Kim Brackett of Idaho as vice president. Wehrbein is focused on advocating for profit opportunities and strengthening the freedom to operate for farmers and ranchers. He is particularly passionate about supporting the next generation of cattle producers and addressing key issues facing the industry. With a strong emphasis on faith, family, and vocation, Wehrbein is committed to working towards a stronger and more viable future for NCBA members. His priorities include securing tax relief provisions, pushing back on regulatory overreach, and defending against the Death Tax that could negatively impact family-owned farms and ranches. Wehrbein looks forward to leading the organization in the year ahead, guided by the principles of faith and family values.
