Make-A-Wish has recently awarded the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award to five deserving winners who have made significant contributions to the organization’s mission of granting life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. The recipients include FOX Entertainment, iHeartMedia, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ms. Rachel, and VidCon.
FOX Entertainment has granted nearly 100 wishes through popular shows like MasterChef, LEGO Masters, and The Masked Singer. iHeartMedia has welcomed wish kids at their live music events, donated media support, and raised over $2.5 million for Make-A-Wish. The Los Angeles Dodgers have granted hundreds of wishes and collaborated with Fanatics and ESPN to create unforgettable wish experiences. Ms. Rachel, a children’s singer and educator, has granted six wishes by providing personalized attention to each child. VidCon has granted over 30 wishes to attend their convention with individualized care and meet-and-greets opportunities.
These award winners have not only made a positive impact on countless lives but have also helped Make-A-Wish raise awareness and generate support. Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, expressed gratitude for the dedication and passion of these honorees. The Chris Greicius Celebrity Award, named after the boy whose wish inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish, recognizes celebrities, entertainers, athletes, influencers, and industry partners who have gone above and beyond to fulfill wishes and bring hope to children facing critical illnesses.
As Make-A-Wish celebrates 45 years of wish granting, the organization continues to help children build mental and physical strength to overcome their illnesses. With over 375,000 wishes granted in the U.S. and its territories, Make-A-Wish is grateful for the ongoing support of these dedicated individuals in the entertainment and sports industry.
