Nebraska Democratic Party Chair, Jane Kleeb, Elected President of Association of State Democratic Committees
Nebraska Democratic Party Chair, Jane Kleeb, has been elected as the president of the Association of State Democratic Committees, a position that essentially makes her the chair of state party chairs. She was chosen for the four-year post by the chairs and vice chairs of state Democratic parties. Kleeb’s victory was celebrated by outgoing DNC chair Jaime Harrison, who called her a “dear friend.”
Kleeb’s campaign for the position highlighted the need for national Democrats to focus more attention on rural states and expand the scope of where Democrats compete beyond the traditional swing states. She emphasized the importance of investing in state parties, including in Republican-led states like Nebraska, to help them win more races.
Nebraska Democratic Party Executive Director, Precious McKesson, expressed excitement and pride in having a Nebraskan lead the national group of Democratic state parties. Kleeb’s leadership will bring kitchen table issues to the forefront and focus on growing the Democratic bench of elected officials at the local level.
