Fans of the iconic show Gilmore Girls may be surprised to learn that some of their favorite celebrities almost made it onto the screen. Casting Director Jami Rudofsky revealed that Ryan Gosling auditioned for a role as a football player on the show but fell flat during the audition. Anna Kendrick also nearly made a cameo appearance on the series, but the timing didn’t work out. Chris Pine, known for his roles in various movies, auditioned as a boyfriend on Gilmore Girls, but ultimately did not land the role.
Even Nathan Wetherington, who was up for the role of Dean Forester before Jared Padalecki, wore the oversized leather jacket in a pilot that ultimately did not air. The show was eventually picked up by the WB, but Wetherington received a letter informing him that the role of Dean was being recast. Additionally, Mädchen Amick was strongly considered for the role of Lorelai Gilmore but ended up playing Sherry instead.
