President-elect Donald Trump announced on social media that Kimberly Guilfoyle and Tom Barrack would be his nominees for ambassadors to Greece and Turkey respectively. Barrack, a former private equity executive and close friend of Trump, was cleared of charges related to acting as an unregistered foreign agent for the UAE during the Trump administration. Guilfoyle, known for her engagement to Trump’s son Donald Jr., was praised by Trump for her ability to strengthen bilateral relations with Greece. Both nominations will require Senate approval.
In addition, Trump also named Ronald Johnson as ambassador to Mexico, where he will work alongside Secretary of State Nominee Marco Rubio to promote America First policies. Johnson previously served as ambassador to El Salvador and has a background in the military and intelligence.
Furthermore, Trump announced that he would nominate Charles Kushner, Jared Kushner’s father, as ambassador to France, and named Massad Boulous as a senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. These appointments demonstrate Trump’s loyalty to his inner circle and his commitment to advancing his foreign policy agenda as he prepares to take office.
