The Broken Bow girls and boys basketball teams will begin their seasons with a matchup against Holdrege tonight. Keaton Klimek, the new boys’ head basketball coach, expressed his admiration for the team’s competitive spirit at the Broken Bow Athletic Booster Club winter sports tip-off event. He highlighted the players’ eagerness to dive for loose balls and their overall intensity during practices.
The games between Broken Bow and Holdrege will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com, starting with the girls’ varsity game at 6 p.m. South Loup will also host Twin Loup in a basketball doubleheader in Callaway tonight, with live broadcasts on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. Various other area girls and boys varsity basketball matchups are scheduled for today, including Ansley/Litchfield vs. Hi-Line, Arcadia/Loup City vs. Pleasanton, Anselmo-Merna vs. Sandhills Valley, and SEM at Wilcox Hildreth. Burwell will face North Central in a girls-only game, while Sandhills/Thedford will play against Maxwell, and Gothenburg will take on Hershey.
