Omaha firefighters responded to a house fire near 123rd and Gold streets on Wednesday. The two-story residence was engulfed in smoke and flames when crews arrived. Fortunately, the occupants were able to escape safely, but one cat was found dead and another had to be resuscitated. A dog found in the house was unharmed.
