On Wednesday night, the Western Nebraska landmark Carhenge was featured on the game show Jeopardy. The clue mentioned that Carhenge, located just outside of Alliance, Neb., along Highway 87, mimics the name of a prehistoric site in England. Made out of old cars, Carhenge was built in 1987 and is a replica of the iconic Stonehenge. The returning champion, Steve, knew the answer and correctly identified Carhenge. Host Ken Jennings remarked on the similarity between the names of the two monuments. Carhenge is a popular tourist attraction in Western Nebraska and draws visitors from around the world. The mention of Carhenge on a nationally televised game show is expected to bring even more attention to the unique and quirky landmark. Copyright 2024 WOWT. All rights reserved.
