Dr. Jed Hansen, the executive director of the Nebraska Rural Health Association (NRHA), recently visited the Nebraska City Rotary Club to introduce the organization and its mission to club members. The NRHA represents 62 critical access hospitals across the state, along with one specialty rural emergency hospital located in Friend. Additionally, the NRHA provides support to 130 rural health clinics and various healthcare professionals in rural areas.
During his presentation, Dr. Hansen emphasized the importance of rural healthcare and the challenges faced by healthcare providers in these areas. The NRHA works to advocate for policies that benefit rural healthcare facilities and improve access to quality healthcare for rural residents.
The Nebraska City Rotary Club members had the opportunity to learn more about the NRHA’s initiatives, including efforts to address healthcare workforce shortages in rural areas and improve healthcare outcomes for rural populations. Overall, the presentation highlighted the valuable work being done by the NRHA to support and strengthen healthcare in rural Nebraska.
