Nebraska’s 2024 General Election saw the second-highest voter turnout in state history, with 934,188 ballots cast. Preliminary data shows a 73.9% voter turnout among registered Nebraskans, with Cedar County having the highest turnout and Thurston County the lowest. Secretary of State Bob Evnen praised county election officials and poll workers for ensuring a smooth Election Day with the implementation of the new voter ID requirement.
Voters who lacked acceptable ID on Election Day were allowed to vote provisionally, with a deadline of Nov. 12 to present ID for their ballot to count. Unofficial results are available at electionresults.nebraska.gov, and a post-election audit will verify the results. County offices will review and canvass their results, with the State Board of Canvassers set to meet on Dec. 2 to officially certify the election results.
