Nebraska’s Katherine Ankerson, executive vice chancellor, will be honored at a retirement reception on Dec. 16 at the International Quilt Museum. The event is open to the campus community and will feature remarks at 4 p.m. Ankerson, who announced her retirement after 35 years in higher education, has been a key figure at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the past 24 years, also holding roles at other institutions such as Radford University and Washington State University.
Having served in various academic positions, including as dean of the College of Architecture and a professor, Ankerson expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her colleagues and the campus community. She highlighted her appreciation for those who are dedicated to the success and future of UNL and the broader University of Nebraska.
The retirement reception will be a chance to celebrate Ankerson’s contributions to the academic community and bid her farewell as she begins a new chapter in her career.
