Police have arrested and charged a 71-year-old man, Michel Fournier, with the murder of his wife, Susan Lane-Fournier, whose body was found in a remote part of Oregon after she went missing while hiking with her two dogs. Her body was discovered in Welches, near Mount Hood, and an autopsy confirmed the cause of death was homicide.
Lane-Fournier, also known as “Phoenix,” was reported missing when she did not show up for work, and her car was found parked near East Salmon River Road. Her two dogs were also found dead. Fournier had filed for divorce a month before her disappearance.
Police are asking for information from anyone who may have seen Fournier around the time of Lane-Fournier’s disappearance. Local residents have expressed shock and sadness over her death, with some gathering at her place of work to pray for her. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
