The Catholic Church is being urged to adopt Synodality as a new way of life by Sr. Dr. Alessandra Smirelli, Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development at the Vatican. She emphasized Pope Francis’ vision of a synodal Church focused on communion, participation, and mission to revitalize the Church’s outreach in a changing world. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India organized a consultation on Synodality, bringing together bishops, theologians, and experts to discuss its transformative potential. Archbishop Anil Joseph Thomas Couto of Delhi urged participants to embrace Synodality for unity within the Church. The event also introduced the CCBI Pastoral Plan – Mission 2033, outlining a strategic vision for the Church’s mission leading up to the Jubilee of Redemption in 2033. The program fostered dialogue and understanding, empowering the Church to move forward in unity and evangelization.
