Freshman Nate Frazier’s 2-point conversion in the eighth overtime secured a thrilling 44-42 victory for No. 6 Georgia over Georgia Tech, after the Bulldogs staged a remarkable fourth-quarter comeback. Despite falling behind 17-0 at halftime, Georgia’s performance may have solidified their spot in the College Football Playoff. Quarterback Carson Beck threw five touchdown passes, including two in overtime, leading the Bulldogs to victory in a game they never led until after regulation. Georgia Tech’s Haynes King put up a valiant effort, scoring three rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to break their seven-game losing streak to Georgia. The game, which lasted eight overtimes, was just shy of the record for the longest FBS game in history. Beck’s heroics, along with strong defensive plays, allowed Georgia to force overtime and eventually secure the win in a back-and-forth battle of 2-point conversion attempts. Ultimately, Frazier’s game-winning run in the eighth OT sealed the victory for the Bulldogs in one of the most thrilling games in SEC history.
