The Columbus Area Children’s Museum is seeking community support this holiday season through a donation challenge set by the Peter Kiewit Foundation. The museum, a nonprofit organization, relies on funding from grants, admission fees, and donations to operate. The foundation has pledged $200,000, and is challenging the community to match that amount by the end of the year.
To incentivize donations, the museum is holding a tier-based drawing for contributors who donate $50 or more. Prizes range from gift cards to free summer camp registration to a five-year museum membership. Additionally, on Giving Tuesday, the museum is holding a day of drawings for donors who contribute at least $25, with prizes such as holiday gift wrapping and museum merchandise.
Executive Director Alyssa Miller emphasized the importance of supporting a place made exclusively for children, where they can experience the magic of the holiday season. Donations can be made online or in-person at the museum. The community is urged to give back and help provide memorable experiences for children in the Columbus area.
