The Nebraska City Pioneers recently concluded their football season with a 1-8 record, finishing with a tough loss to Auburn. Despite their struggles, they had a close game against Falls City and secured their only win of the season against Fairbury. The volleyball team also finished their regular season with a 2-25 record after a loss to Beatrice. In cross country, Nebraska City’s Jonathan Rico-Avalos competed at the State Championships, finishing 64th out of 89 runners. The team from Lincoln Pius X took first place in the Class B boys’ race. Overall, it was a challenging season for the Pioneers, but they showed determination and perseverance throughout their various competitions.
