Israeli military forces have bombed the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, killing at least one person and injuring seven others. The hospital has been sheltering displaced Palestinians and treating thousands of people in the area. The attack destroyed 18 tents and caused extensive damage to the compound. Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted medical facilities in the enclave, which has been described as a war crime under the Geneva Convention.
In addition to the attack on the hospital, separate Israeli strikes in the Jabalia refugee camp and near Gaza City resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to several others. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has condemned the US for its support of Israel’s actions in Gaza and called on the international community to stop supplying weapons to Israel.
The latest figures released by the Ministry of Health indicate that Israel’s war on Gaza has resulted in the death of at least 41,534 Palestinians and wounded 96,092. More than half of those killed have been women and children, including babies and toddlers under the age of two. The ongoing violence in Gaza has led to widespread destruction and loss of life, prompting calls for an end to the conflict and for international intervention to protect civilians in the region.
