Manchester City’s John Stones and Bernardo Silva have criticized Arsenal’s tactics following their 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium. Stones called Arsenal’s approach “dirty” and accused them of time-wasting, while Silva said the Gunners played to the limits allowed by the referee.
Despite being down to 10 men in the second half, Arsenal almost secured a victory against City, only to be denied by Stones’ late equalizer. Both players expressed frustration with Arsenal’s disruptive tactics during the game.
Silva pointed out that City’s rivalries with Liverpool and Arsenal are different, suggesting that Liverpool always aims to play football while Arsenal resorts to other methods. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also criticized the referee for inconsistency in handing out yellow cards.
Arteta praised his team’s performance, noting that playing with 10 men for over half the game was a difficult challenge. He downplayed an incident where Haaland bounced the ball off Gabriel’s head, attributing it to emotions.
Guardiola was uncertain about the extent of Rodri’s injury, while also criticizing Kyle Walker for failing to mark Gabriel when he scored. The match between the two clubs ended with controversy and mixed emotions for both teams.
