UN Reports Marginal Decrease in World Food Prices in August, According to U.S. News & World Report


According to a report by the United Nations, global food prices showed a slight decrease in August. The Food and Agriculture Organization’s Food Price Index, which tracks the prices of major food commodities worldwide, dropped by 1.2% from July. This decline was mainly driven by decreases in the prices of cereals, sugar, and vegetable oils, which offset increases in meat and dairy prices.
