Hamas claims that Netanyahu is attempting to prolong the war for personal and political gain.
Meanwhile, Palestinian medics reported five deaths in an Israeli airstrike targeting a car in the occupied West Bank. Israeli troops stormed the Faraa refugee camp in Tubas governorate, causing explosions and widespread destruction. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has defended the partial suspension of arms exports to Israel, stating it is a legal decision. The United States has announced criminal charges against Hamas’ top leaders for their roles in an attack that killed 1,200 people.
Despite ongoing conflicts, progress is being made in rolling out a polio vaccine to children in Gaza, with around 187,000 children already vaccinated. The campaign aims to reach over 200,000 children in total. The Gaza health ministry reports that at least 40,861 people have been killed in the war between Israel and Palestinian militants. The US is working with Egypt and Qatar to push for a final agreement to end the Gaza war. An Israeli far-right minister has called for an end to negotiations for a Gaza ceasefire, citing the execution of six hostages by Hamas.
