Soldier from U.S. Army Accused of Falsehoods for Denying Links to Group Seeking Government Overthrow

Kai Liam Nix, a 20-year-old U.S. Army soldier, has been indicted on federal charges including making a false statement to the government and unlawful firearms trafficking. Prosecutors allege that Nix lied about his connection to a group dedicated to overthrowing the government on his security clearance application. He is also accused of dealing firearms without a license and possessing and selling stolen firearms. Nix, who used the name Kia Brazelton, has been in the Army since August 2022 but has no deployments and recently left the Army as a private. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison. Nix had his first court appearance on Monday and, as of now, has not commented on the charges.
