Former President Donald Trump had previously mentioned that his campaign had agreed to participate in a vice presidential debate on CBS News, with no specific date provided. Trump praised Vance for his performance and stated that he has done a fantastic job. Additionally, Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have agreed to participate in a debate hosted by ABC News on Sept. 10. It remains to be seen whether Vance will respond to the CBS News invitation and participate in the scheduled debate with Walz.
