Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was denied a spot on New York’s general election ballot by a judge ruling against his nominating petition. Kennedy, who resides in California, claimed a New York address as his residence on the petition forms. The judge invalidated his petition and directed the Board of Elections not to include his name on the ballot. Kennedy plans to appeal the decision, accusing Democrats of trying to limit voter choice. Kennedy is facing similar lawsuits in Pennsylvania, where he is also trying to appear on the ballot. Clear Choice Action, a Democratic-aligned group, sued Kennedy in New York, claiming he lied about his residency and provided false information on his filing papers. The group accused Kennedy of intentionally misleading election officials and betraying voters’ trust. The Democratic National Committee described Kennedy as a “deeply troubled, reckless, and dangerous man” after the ruling. Despite being on the ballot in 15 other states, Kennedy’s eligibility in New York and Pennsylvania is being contested due to residency issues.
