Democratic vice-president Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are scheduled to hold rallies in Wisconsin and Michigan as part of their battleground tour. The event in Wisconsin will feature appearances by other prominent Democrats such as Governor Tony Evers and Senator Tammy Baldwin, as well as a performance by the indie folk band Bon Iver. Walz has faced criticism from Republican JD Vance, who accused Harris of choosing him over Josh Shapiro due to his Jewish identity. Vance also criticized Shapiro’s previous comments on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and student protests. Additionally, Vance defended Donald Trump’s previous attacks on Harris’s biracial identity, calling her a “fake.” Hillary Clinton came to Walz’s defense against online mockery with the hashtag #TamponTim, praising his policy of providing free menstrual products in schools. Financial disclosures show that Walz does not own stocks or other investments, and Harris highlighted their partnership as they campaign across multiple states. Trump reacted positively to Harris’s vice-president pick and claimed to have saved Walz from protesters, while the New York Times reported on the selection process that led to Walz’s nomination. The campaign has also released merchandise featuring a camo hat with the Harris-Walz logo, sparking comparisons to a hat from popstar Chappell Roan’s collection.
