Simone Biles and Suni Lee will face off in the women’s all-around gymnastics final at the Paris Olympics, making history as the first Olympic all-around champions to compete against each other for a repeat title. The event will take place at Bercy Arena on August 1 and will air live on NBC, USA Network, E!, Peacock, and NBC Olympics platforms. Biles, who won the title in 2016, is favored to win, followed by Rebeca Andrade and Lee. Biles performed well in qualifiers, while Andrade closed the gap in the team final. If Biles wins, she will be the first gymnast to win two Olympic all-around championships non-consecutively. Andrade, the reigning world champion, is a strong competitor. Lee, the defending Olympic champion, will need a strong performance to hang with Biles and Andrade. Only the top 24 gymnasts from qualifiers advance to the final, with only the top two from each country participating due to the two-per-country rule. The gymnast with the highest execution score wins in case of a tie, and the lowest apparatus score is dropped in case of a further tie. Biles or Lee winning would put them in the company of gymnastics legends Larisa Latynina and Věra Čáslavská as repeat Olympic all-around champions.
