Sean Kingston and his mother facing federal charges for alleged involvement in $1M fraud scheme

Rapper and singer Sean Kingston, along with his mother, Janice Turner, have been indicted on federal charges of fraud in South Florida. They are accused of participating in a scheme to defraud victims of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other goods using fraudulent documents. The indictment states that they falsely claimed to have executed monetary transfers for items but did not pay for them, keeping over $1 million worth of fraudulently purchased goods. Kingston was booked into jail last month on similar state charges after being arrested at an Army training base in California, while Turner was arrested during a raid at Kingston’s rented mansion in Florida.

The warrants for the state charges allege that they stole nearly $500,000 in jewelry, along with money from various banks and a car dealer. Kingston, known for his hit song “Beautiful Girls” in 2007 and collaboration with Justin Bieber, was already on probation for trafficking stolen property. Turner has served time in prison for bank fraud in the past.

Their attorney has stated they are confident of a successful resolution. Kingston has a history of legal issues, while his mother has prior convictions for fraud. Both are facing serious charges related to the alleged fraudulent scheme.
