Two west-central Nebraska businesses, A Botanical Dream in North Platte and First Stop Vape Shop in Ogallala, have agreed to stop selling synthetic THC products as part of a settlement with the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office. The businesses must turn over any remaining products to the state within the next 14 days or face fines. A Botanical Dream could be fined $90,000 for a first breach, $180,000 for a second breach, and would lose all gross revenues for subsequent breaches. First Stop Vape Shop faces a $18,000 fine for the first breach, $36,000 for a second breach, and loss of all gross revenues for subsequent breaches.
Additionally, Greenhouse Grandma in Chadron and Zy Glam in Scottsbluff have also reached settlements with the Attorney General’s office regarding the sale of prohibited THC products. The prohibited products include delta-8 THC, delta-9 THC, delta-10 THC, and any other synthetic THC products.
Attorney General Mike Hilgers stressed the importance of retailers stopping the sale of these products, stating that the campaign against them will continue until the industry is cleaned up. The Attorney General’s Office is working to enforce compliance with the settlement agreements and eliminate the sale of synthetic THC products in Nebraska.
This settlement serves as a reminder to businesses that the sale of prohibited substances will not be tolerated in the state, and that failure to comply can result in significant fines and penalties. The Attorney General’s Office is committed to protecting the public from dangerous substances and holding businesses accountable for their actions.
