Second Round of Summer EBT Payments Sent Out by Nebraska DHHS

The Department of Health and Human Services will be sending out the second round of Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) payments on July 19. Eligible households will receive a new Summer EBT card with $120 per child. The benefit is for households of children eligible for free or reduced-price meals, those who completed a Summer EBT application, and those in public assistance programs. The Summer EBT card will need to be activated by calling the number on the back of the card and entering the required information. The benefits can be used at approved SNAP retailers for eligible food items for 122 days. If the benefits are not used within 122 days, they will be returned to the USDA. For questions about Summer EBT, individuals can call or email the DHHS.

The Summer EBT program aims to provide additional support to families with children during the summer months when children may not have access to school meals. By providing financial assistance for food purchases, the program helps ensure that children have access to nutritious meals even when school is out of session.

For more information on Summer EBT, including eligibility criteria and nutritional information, individuals can visit the DHHS website. Subscribe to 10/11 NOW for daily news alerts and updates on the Summer EBT program.
