Two individuals arrested in Nebraska narcotics investigation where multiple firearms and drugs were seized

Nebraska State Patrol investigators made a significant bust in a narcotics investigation in Phelps County, Nebraska, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. Dakota Hancock, 29, was taken into custody for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. Additionally, Shane Martin, 36, was arrested for possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute within a school zone and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

During the investigation, the NSP SWAT Team and the TRIDENT Task Force discovered 12 firearms, 11 pounds of marijuana, 1 gram of cocaine, 4 pounds of THC wax concentrate, and 4 dozen psilocybin mushroom candy bars in a residence in Kearney. Another search warrant was executed at a residence in Funk, where five firearms, marijuana products, and psilocybin mushrooms were found. The suspects were linked to the Funk location through the investigation.

Both individuals were lodged into separate county jails following their arrests. Hancock was sent to Phelps County Jail, while Martin was taken to Buffalo County Jail. The successful operation demonstrates the dedication of law enforcement in Nebraska to combatting illegal drug activity and preventing firearms from falling into the wrong hands. The Nebraska State Patrol continues to work tirelessly to keep communities safe and free from the dangers of illicit drugs and weapons.
