A tragic incident unfolded in Nebraska as at least seven people, including four children, were injured after a gunman opened fire on victims believed to be Hispanic. The suspect, identified as 74-year-old Billy Booth, was later found dead inside his house after firing shots at neighbors. The shooting took place at a residential property on Crestline Drive in Crete, with the victims ranging in age from 3 to 43.
Witnesses reported that Booth had told the victims to “go back to where they came from and to speak English” before the shooting occurred. Nebraska State Police stated that there was no apparent dispute leading to the incident, but Booth and the family had a prior history. Thankfully, all victims are expected to survive their injuries.
During a press conference, Colonel John A Bolduc confirmed that multiple rounds were fired by the suspect, though the exact number of shots could not be determined. The community is left in shock and disbelief over this senseless act of violence. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack and are working to provide support to the victims and their families during this difficult time.
