Jeremiah Jones chooses Nebraska football

The Nebraska football team has secured a commitment from Murray, Kentucky athlete Jeremiah Jones for its 2025 recruiting class. The versatile three-star recruit, who stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 205 pounds, has played multiple positions in high school, showcasing his ability to excel on both offense and defense. Jones caught Nebraska’s attention with his speed, agility, and length, as well as his positional versatility.

Jones’ high school coach, Melvin Cunningham, describes him as a special player who can be effective no matter where he lines up on the field. Despite not having a defined position due to playing various roles, Jones has recorded impressive stats on both sides of the ball, including over 1,200 yards of offense and 140 tackles over the last two seasons.

While Jones has drawn interest from other schools like Florida State and Kentucky, Nebraska envisions him playing in the secondary or at outside linebacker. The Husker coaching staff is known for developing promising players, and Jones is expected to undergo a similar process to find his best fit on the field. Cunningham believes that Jones, who is just 17 years old, still has a lot of untapped potential and will be a valuable asset for Nebraska on the football field. With 14 commitments in their 2025 recruiting class, the Huskers are excited to see what Jones can bring to the team in the coming years.
