2 people seriously injured, 17 others displaced

There was an arson fire in South Los Angeles that burned down five homes and left a man and a woman in their 60s hospitalized with serious burn injuries, adding that the fire department is investigating the incident. The blaze spread to seven nearby homes, causing serious injuries to a 66-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman, with a man in his 30s being treated on the scene for minor injuries. At least 17 people were displaced due to the fire. The building under construction was a four-story affordable housing complex. This comes after a previous arson fire under Interstate 10 near downtown Los Angeles, which displaced 16 unhoused people and disrupted travel for over 300,000 commuters. Governor Newsom stated that arson was behind the freeway fire. So far, no arrests have been made in either incident.
